There is no need for introduction or explanation of Razz's potential as a pony hunter. Pony hunters are his bloodlines historically. His sire, GlanNant Cadence, has produced both Welsh Halter and Pleasure Champions and Pony Hunter Champions. His dam is also a Champion of performance divisions. If you wish to breed "GlanNant" for performance, size, quality and working ability look no further.

I am really excited to show and tell you of Raz' progress under saddle! Here are pictures of shows and events from the latest to the earliest, enjoy!

Glenda, I am having a good time with Raz!

Raz has progressed above expectations! Here he is at a Clinic given by Rosie Mally in pleasure, hunter under saddle and equitation at which Raz received two firsts, one second, two thirds and a fourth. He was ridden in company with horses and ponies, including several mares and was a complete gentleman!

Our sincere appreciation to Glenda Armstrong, Glynhafan Farm for leasing us this outstanding performance pony stallion.

GlanNant Cadence GlanNant Cranberry
2009 #5 USEF Welsh Sire
(Cusop Sheriff LOM X GlanNant Rhyme by Brockwell Spider x Coed Coch Prydyddes) (GlanNant Keel by Bristol Victor (Coed Coch Ballog) X GlanNant Berry Patch by Liseter Redbird)

GlanNant Cadence was born at GlanNant Farm, Ithaca, New York. Big, bold, and beautiful, he was loaded with the performance genes of his illustrious ancestors and his long and prolific career in performance and at stud has withstood the test of time.

Cadence's foals have exhibited dense bone, large size, good attitude, wonderful body, extreme movement and trainable nature.  Sired by top performance stallion,
*Cusop Sheriff, and out of  GlanNant Rhyme herself a champion pony hunter, Cadence carries a good percentage of Criban Victor blood thru Cusop Sheriff, and Coed Coch Prydyddes. GlanNant Keel goes directly back to Criban Victor through his sons Coed Coch Ballog and Coed Coch Blaen Lleuad, and also carries the influx of Coed Coch Glyndwr and Tan y Bwlch Berwyn.  GlanNant Cranberry traces to Liseter Redbird; along with a small percentage of Tan y Bwlch Berwyn and Farnley. Truely some of the oldest Welsh lines made famous in the USA by the wisdom of Mollie Butler of GlanNant Farm.

CASMARAN WELSH COBS
CROSS CREEK WELSH PONIES
In 1959 Mollie Butler at GlanNant was interested in importing a bred mare as a larger riding pony for her daughter, Linda. She asked her good friend Thalia Gentzel to search for such a mare while visiting Wales. A mare, she first saw in Wales was none other than *Coed Coch Prydyddes aka "Puff", a daughter of Criban Victor and Coed Coch Pluen by Tan-Y-Bwlch Berwyn. Mollie Butler was interested in the mare but it could not be determined if the mare was in foal or not, but took a chance and it turned out that Puff was indeed in foal to Rhyd-Y-Felin Selwyn by *Coed Coch Blaen Lleuad (Criban Victor x Berwyn Beauty).

At GlanNant Puff went on to have 14 foals, and her daughter GlaNant Sonnet, so fortunately imported in utero, had 16 more-so the original importation of one bred mare resulted in 31 offspring! Puff, elegant from her classic chiseled face to her deep hip and level croup, also had a breathtaking ground-eating trot with tremendous impulsion and a reaching step that seemed never to touch ground! Puff and her offspring also jumped well, which combined to serve them to best advantage in model, hack, and over fences classes.

Puff foals, and their offspring, have impacted our show arenas right up to today! Bred to *Cusop Sheriff, Puff produced the sons GlanNant Limerick, and the famous GlanNant Ballad. Other very notable offspring of Cusop Sheriff are GlanNant Cadence, GlanNant Banbury Cross, GlanNant Barddes, GlanNant Easter Story, GlanNant Eventide, GlanNant Honey Bee, GlanNant Idyll, GlanNant Lady Bug, GlanNant Polonaise, GlanNant Saga, GlanNant Serenade, GlanNant Sonata, GlanNant Tango, and Lithgow Wishnik, all successful breed and performance ponies in their own right and producers of Champions in all disciplines.

Findeln Blue Danube, sired by GlanNant Limerick, produced such offspring such as Gayfields Vida Blue USEF Leading Sire #1 in 2003 and 2004 and Top Four 7 other years. Cloe Olympian also by Limerick has been Top Ten Sire 6 times.

GlanNant Ballad sired the 1998 Pony Hunter Finals Champion Touch of Frost.

Ballad’s son, GlanNant Bard (out of GlanNant Sonnet, the Puff daughter imported in utero) was National Welsh Supreme Champion and many time Grand Champion and Champion in hand as well as showing successfully under saddle and standing in the USEF Leading Sire list for many years. Bard in turn sired GlanNant Skipper who was also a Welsh Supreme Champion, and, shown as Believe In Magic, was Champion Medium and Reserve Champion Overall at the 1999 Pony Finals. Skipper's son Helicon Corsair has been WPCSA Half Welsh #2 Sire of the Year, top third in USEF Leading Pony Hunter Sires several times, and the sire of an American Sport Pony Site Champion and a winning event pony! GlanNant Mariner, also by GlanNant Bard, is the sire of Maranatha Tapestry a well known welsh sire in the pony hunter discipline, along with his sire and his paternal greatgrandsire GlanNant Ballad who have sired many Pony Finals Champions, ponies who are still competing today. GlanNant Ballad was also the sire of Tapestry's dam!

GlanNant Cadence, by Cusop Sheriff and out of GlanNant Rhyme whose dam was Puff, is a multi-Champion in halter, under saddle, over fences and driving. He is a USEF Leading Sire and has sired USEF Champions. These lines have proven to be a wonderful performance gene pool.
